Manassas, Virginia – Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader, lawmaker and spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi is currently on a visit to the UNITED States. He is meeting Nepalis in the US. He has spoken in support of former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who has been arrested in a cooperative fraud case and imprisoned.

Gyanendra Shahi has said that there is a serious problem in the judicial system of Nepal after seeing the picture of Ravi Lamichhane being kept in jail. He said that this incident has raised questions about the faith of the common people in justice.

Shahi has also strongly criticised the fraud committed by nc and UML leaders in the cooperative sector. “Many people’s savings are at risk, but the culprits are getting immunity. He directly asked the Home Minister, “When will you put the cooperative thugs of the NC and UML in jail?”

According to Gyanendra Shahi, this problem is not only of Ravi Lamichhane, but of many prisoners. He said that the prisons in Nepal are overcrowding and they have not been given minimum facilities. “This has affected the mental and physical health of the prisoners and violated their human rights,” Shahi said.

He urged all concerned agencies to pay attention to solve this problem. He has been meeting the Nepali community in various states and cities. Wherever he goes, he is getting the love and support of Nepalis.
